Dear Friends:
Thanks to the many wise women who have posted on this topic, to the list
and to me privately.
The mother has been adding her cream to her milk. She has tried a
Haberman, it works about as well as other devices. Baby can not sustain latch; she
can chew but can't suck. Transferred 0.1 oz after what the mother called a
'good' feed.
Mother's nipple and areola are on the larger side. Wouldn't you know
that this poor little peanut has to deal with the size issue as well?
The mother has noticed that a day of feedings supplemented with her cream
are followed by a vomiting day. She is beginning to question if there is a
connection.
Baby barely wakes some days. Mother carries baby in sling, co-beds. I
suggested massage 15 minutes three times a day, based on Dr. Tiffany Field's
research showing that this regimen caused premies to gain weight more quickly.
I guess a tube is the next step?
    Thanks again, everyone.
    warmly,
