Patricia Gordon asks "I truly do not want to neglect this aspect of my
healthcare, but radiation exposure, being cumulative over a lifetime, is not
something for which I would typically volunteer. Does anyone know of an
adequate substitute for routine mammograms?"

I have no answer about alternatives however my guess is that the radiation
exposure received during a mammogram is minimal. I wish I knew the exact
amount, but I do know that my gut tells me that the radiation is certainly
better than death.
