I have posted my thoughts on visitors before.  We really need to get
the word to expectant parents to think twice about having anyone and
everyone drop in right after the baby comes.  I love the idea
someone expressed comparing those first few days with a new baby and
the first few days after marriage.  No one would consider visiting a
newly married couple in the first few days without invitation and if
an invitation is offered, it would be met with surprise.  Yet, when
a third (or more) member joins the family, they are expected to
welcome lots of visitors.  The idea of a "babymoon" much like a
honeymoon really makes sense and when I have suggested it in
prenatal classes, it is well received.

One question - Why is it that the mom who feels the least
comfortable nursing in front of visitors always has the longest and
largest string of visitors?!
