Clearly Dr Tayloe and the AAP are suffering terribly from a condition known
formally as intra-rectal fence-paling syndrome (AKA vertebral deficiency).
The aetiology of this condition is fairly well understood - it is usually
cause by perching precariously on the fence. Fortunately the condition can
be rectified fairly simply by getting of the fence and actually taking a
position. Another benefit of this treatment is that is often coincides with
the regrowth of vertebrae.
