Thank you everyone for your input.  i just spoke to the mother and she
went to a different pediatrician for a second opinion.  This dr. feels
that the baby only has chicken pox and sees no reason to stop nursing.
Obviously we will never know if the first physician was worried about
anything else or was just looking for another excuse to have a baby wean
prematurely.
