Naomi,

I am interested in this theme because I am one of the coordinators for MAMI
- Movimento Allattamento Materno Italiano (Italian Breastfeeding Movement).
Here in Italy, nothing much has happened, even though the Inocenti
Declaration was signed right here in Florence! Here are some articles that
might be of interest:

Another place to look would be the UNICEF gopher pages where they have all
the issues of the BFHI News. The address is:

gopher://gopher.unicef.org:70/11/.s2pubdocs

UNICEF has also published an update on the BFHI called "1997 Progress
Report: Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative" which can be requested form your
local UNICEF office or from New York or Geneva.

Another good resource is Baby Milk Action: http://www.gn.apc.org/babymilk/
They have published a list of Code implementation by country that you can
order from them. They also have copies of "Cracking the Code" available.

Good luck and let me know what you find out.

Elise
