Yes, docs SHOULD keep up with breastfeeding, but the large majority don't see
it as a life and death issue, or even a health issue - just a lifestyle
choice!  But it is not just docs:  I was speaking at a seminar with Suzanne
Haynes PhD, the Chairperson of the Committee on Breastfeeding which produced
the "HHS Blueprint for Action on Breastfeeding".  She was a very strong
supporter for breastfeeding because of the health and economic advantages,
but in her lecture she said "after all, babies in the USA don't die because
they are not breastfed".  I corrected her, gently,.
