Joanne,

I have a very dear friend (I call her Mom) :) who had a heart transplant in
September '91, and is doing wonderfully. I know she speaks publicly about
it to other doctors in her area, plus she writes editorials frequently in
her local newspaper, and is a representative of her local organ donation
cause (MI/WI area). If you need to contact her for any information, or
about living with a transplant, I'm certain she'd welcome email. Her
address is [log in to unmask] and her name is Brenda Smith.

And to tie this all into breastfeeding, she nursed her 29 year old daughter
for 18 months with the help of LLL, and is the one who encouraged me to
contact LLL years ago with my daughter!

(She also runs a no-kill animal rescue/shelter and a pet camp from her home
and *loved* the two recent posts about using breastmilk to rescue the
ferret and squirrel! She is a staunch supporter of breastfeeding.)

Perhaps if you need to find a non-confrontational way to suggest that this
mom in the hospital give nursing a try, Brenda might be able to offer
something worth passing along! I will let her know that she might get an
email from someone here. :)

Angela
