Climbing up. . .
Although I hope nobody is offended at my LLL meetings (and the best shot at
this is through optimum communication skills), my purpose is to present LLL
philosophy about breastfeeding and mothering even though there are many women
who may not agree and may be offended. I don't water down the truth to keep
anybody happy in their ignorance about breastfeeding or abm, or to keep them
happy in their beliefs. Yet all truths may not have a place at a LLL meeting
or it could turn into a real free-for-all.

I really like what Kathleen said about focusing attention on the
"risks/liabilities/illnesses/deficiences" of abm. In thinking about it, I
realize that I do more of this focus at breastfeeding classes I teach, and my
clients' reactions are the same as what Kathleen said - surprise and pleasure
that it reinforced their own good choice. When I first started teaching it
was for another company and the owner told me I spent too much time on all
that. However the evaluations showed that the clients really like having
their choice reinforced with good information. I think I could do some more
of this, and provide some more written material to support it, thanks to this
discussion!

Thanks to everyone who wrote about the working and decreased supply!
Paula
