Hi All,

I was on my way to work this morning and was listening to my usual morning
talk radio show. They brought up this doll and all the DJ's were absolutely
opposed to it, thought it was disgusting and all said they would not allow it in
their house. Before they criticised the doll, however, they all agreed that
breastfeeding was great and all supported breastfeeding... So, I didn't call
and rant/rave at them like I initally wanted to- I wanted to yell through the
phone "breastfeeding is normal, why can't you support a doll that promotes
breastfeeding as the norm!!!???"

However, whether I agree with the premise of the doll or not, I am wondering
why the company chose the name it did? (for the record, I am breastfeeding
a 7 month old right now, and my 4 year old lifts her shirt and puts her babies
to her breast when she needs to feed them!) When I heard the name, my
immediate thought was "it's a fat baby". When I heard it was a breastfeeding
baby, I thought "why are they linking a breastfeeding baby with a glutonous
baby"? Breastfeed babies aren't gluttons, are they? Am I missing something
here? :)
