With re to the post from mom whos dr told her to put baby on formula because of "lactose intolerance" at 4 weeks of age:

The same thing happened to me : the dr told mom to wean a very young baby because of "lactose intolerance". The baby was very gassy in this case. It was sad, too, because she really wanted to breastfeed, and so I think we all felt bad. (it goes without saying that she listened to the dr, although I was trying to educate her re all the myriad reasons why this could be happening & what she could do to continu bf).
