Tracy,
I like the analogy and use a somewhat similar one. I tell parents, if
you are having any trouble at all bf or latching baby, get naked. I say
wouldn't it be hard...er, difficult... to have sex fully clothed? Well,
while you are learning to bf it is easier if both mother and baby are
naked from the waist up. This gets a laugh usually. I have to say this
not infrequently, becoz nsg staff continually tell the moms to put on
your bra and I find this, along with the dreaded nsg gowns, makes things
much harder. Oh, this is something I say in bf class, too: consider
leaving the nsg gowns home and just tell the nurses "oh, I forgot to
bring my nsg bras." Oh yes, and bring a couple good soft scrunchy
pillows from home, as they are much better than the hosp ones, which are
often hard to find a second one anyway.
