They often need re-drained - they simply fill back up. In the UK, you
are recalled in an ongoing pattern, and have them re-drained if they've
come back.

Mine was emptied 3 times before it stopped filling. They checked the
cells every time, as it can be an indicator of more serious problems -
but equally it's usually not. So she should go back and have it
re-drained and tested.

It does sound as if this clinic isn't very used to dealing with them -
no one at mine was the slightest bit surprised when yoghurt came back up
the needle from the aspiration. The ultrasound had only been about
looking for blood flow through the mass, and the expectation was that a
lump in a breastfeeding mother's breast, that had developed during the
breastfeeding, was going to be a milk filled cyst. It was the breast
cancer clinic - maybe she didn't go to a specialist breast clinic?

Also, it needs to be Savoy (dark green leafy) cabbage! :-) and yes, it
does work.
