There's Mothering magazine, which does not accept ads for infant formula (I think I've seen ads for toddler formula, clearly indicating that it's for over 1 year olds).  Mothering is very pro-bf, anti-circ, anti-vax, pro-co-sleeping, pro-alternative medicine, pro-home birth, so you probably want to look at a few issues before putting it into a hospital!  I wonder if Mothering would consider writing a magazine specifically for the hospital market.   http://www.mothering.com/

Another magazine I like is Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers.  It's mainly essays on parenting; it's not really a baby magazine, though there are certainly baby essays.  No formula ads that I have ever seen, but they did have an essay once--I haven't read that issue--on how formula was a marriage equalizer. http://www.brainchildmag.com/

What I love about both magazines is that their articles are thoughtfully written at the high school graduate level, not a 6th grade level.

Wow, what would a free Baby Friendly magazine be like?

Julie Tardos,

>Does anyone know of any baby friendly magazine options for moms in the hospital or clinics?  All of the normal freebie magazines are full of formula advertising and I am hoping to find some baby friendly alternatives to look into.  Thank you in advance.
