Ben - I guess you feel sorry for the mom and dad, and for the nursing staff.
But if you're the doctor and if you've examined the babies and found them to
be healthy - and if no supplements are *medically* indicated - and if these
parents really want to breastfeed, and want to avoid the unnecessary risk of
allergies and infections and all the rest - then you reassure them the
babies are fine on exclusive breastfeeding tonight and encourage them to
keep on keeping on.  Tomorrow will be better because of all the breast
stimulation today, and so on.
