Rhoda asks, "should she use the supplementer at the first attempt to
breastfeed the baby".  I would think *not*.  Think of it, mom would be
attempting to provide as far as possible what this little one would receive
if she were to be nursed by the biological mother - tiny droplets of
colostrum.  Normally the baby would receive only approx 30 ml colostrum in
the first 24 hours, so IMHO the adoptive mom could nurse without any
supplements at all during this time and maybe even longer, depending on her
milk production by the time the baby is born.  Perhaps she could watch the
baby's urine output in the first few days to know when to start
supplementing?  What a *perfect* beginning for this baby - good luck to all!
