The mother will likely be self-injecting the interferon and ribavirin.  The
therapy will make her ill most likely.  It has been described to me as
feeling as if you constantly have a low grade flu.  Ribavirin is given to
infants.  Interferon can't pass into milk.  Mom may be lying around a lot,
so I'd think it would be to her advantage to be able to do mothering at the
breast.  Baby will be happier and less work.
