Do any of your hospitals have policies that state that employees can not
accept gifts over X amount?

When the hospital instituted their "compliance policy" as directed by
JCAHO/Federal Government/Medicare - who ever! All employees were required
to sign acknowledgement of this. One section clearly stated that "gifts"
from vendors, patients, family's were prohibited. Small acknowledgements,
such as flowers, candy, pens, magnets were acceptable as long as the
receiver did not accept these for giving preferential treatment. I can get
the exact wording if any one is interested. Our facility has identified
these as having a total value of less than $25.00.
