The food stores where I shop carry verylittle formula and I have not seen
that sign about EN....AR with the rice flour added.

However, I believe the American Academy of Pediatrics has for many years
recommended AGAINST the practice on numerous medical grounds, including
inability to tell how much of the milk or the rice the baby is getting,
increased risk of choking, etc etc.

I know local WIC offices have been discouraging the practice for many years
as well.

I recommend that if your grocery store has this thing there, the manager
should be approached and urged to remove it LEST they be SUED for
recommending a feeding practice that is NOT recommended by medical
practitioners! At the very least, such a warning should make them think
twice before allowing continued use of same. In addition, they need to be
told that they are in violation of the WHO/UNICEF Code of Marketing of
Breastmilk Substitutes, which the US GOVERNMENT backed several years ago.
(no need to tell them there are no teeth in the ratification)

I call this EMPOWERMENT of the shopper and INFORMATION SHARING with the
manager. Who knows? You might even make a friend!
