Dear Holly, and all, I commend you for a very informative post re: your
day, and patient roster.  It certainly impressed me. Holy cow.

I think that both sides can be seen...there are those xxxxx ( put in
doctor, nurse, LC, RD, whatever) who take the role of protector and those
who do not want to learn new things..and there are those who are totally
overwhelmed and doing what they can to do damage control in an overwhelming
situation such as you describe.

What a world we live in where these things can happen to young families,
women, men...where girls aged 16 can be having multiple pregnancies. I have
a 16 year old myself. I cannot fathom Emily in this position.

What is our world coming to?

It becomes apparent to me that it is ever more important that we, as hcps
interested in breastfeeding, and committed to bf, join together to work to
further the cause of breastfeeding. I know that entropy is the norm, chaos
is the reigning state, but we need to work together against these forces of
chaos...that serve to divide us, and to undermine breastfeeding in general,
for mothers and families.

Praying for grace for the patients that you have today, and for Holly as
she works with them. If this were my patient load, I would want all the
help I could get.
