Yea. When I saw it , it was ugly. The mother didn't notice. Scary stuff.

This also happened to the firstborn daughter of a good
friend of mine. We (her experienced breastfeeding
friends) kept telling her the baby needed to nurse
more frequently, but she thought the baby was ok
because she was quiet in the baby swing. It was only
when the doctor told her the baby that the baby was
failing to thrive that she realized that we had been
right.

I saw a baby one time, a fourth child. Mother was
using the swing a lot
to quiet the baby. He was failing to thrive, as he was
"swung" into a
weight loss situation, instead of being nursed often.
