Have the mother and her legal team read the information on Breastfeeding and
Family Law at the La Leche League web site at
http://www.lalecheleague.org/LawMain.html

This is essential reading (for all of us, too). There are articles on The
Breastfeeding Relationship and Visitation Plans, Breastfeeding and Divorce,
In the Best Interest of Breastfed Babies, and Overview and Implications for
Helping Mothers. They are written by the late Liz Baldwin.

These situations are always heartbreaking. It is easy to get caught up in
the drama, and that may not always be the most helpful to the mother or the
LC. We often hear only one perspective, the mother's. We can't make
judgments without knowing all the facts. Liz explains some of the realities
of the US legal system.
