Hi all--

Our hospital is now giving out a gift pack with a breast cream sample inside.
The cream is made by a major baby product company ("J") and contains the
following ingredients:
Lanolin, Glycerin and Vitamin B5

I had never heard anything about B5 and was wondering if anyone had any info
on this? I looked in Briggs, where it told me about it in mom's diet going
into milk, but not about baby ingesting it directly. I checked several
resources, including neonatal and NICU texts but found no references that said
anything useful.

I tell my moms that less is better, and why introduce extra ingredients that
aren't necessary, but you know how these Freebies are.

Word to those working in hospitals or teaching lamaze--tear open a gift pack
whenever a new box comes in so that you know what's in them. I was told by two
patients that this was in their pack, yet the nurses on the floor (one of them
a full-time manager who is also IBCLC) had no idea that we were giving this
out!!! Most of the time the packs go out on day of discharge, and no one sees
what is in them but the mom at home!!

Thanks for any info on Vitamin B5.
