there was a personal opinion piece on the editorial page of one of the local
papers last week, a lawyer lamenting and complaining at great length about
how unjust it was that stores limit their sales of ABM, so that he could not
buy a week's supply of soy formula for his baby at kmart all at one time. i
found i could not resist, of course, especially since i could reply by email.
today they published my letter, complete and uncut. it's short, so for once i
will include it.

they gave it the title "breastfeeding (see? one word, they spelled it right)
boost"

"Many thanks to Andrew Cohen for his recent Speakout column which
inadvertently pointed out one of the advantages of breastfeeding. Aside from
the known health risks of not breastfeeding babies, there is a convenience
factor, too. (Cohen was complaining about not being allowed to buy a week's
worth of formula for his child at one time due to a purchase limit.)

Those who believe there will be Y2K problems would be wise to remember this
when deciding how to feed those millenium babies."

of course, they did not put the IBCLC after my name, my SU said they probably
didn't know what it meant.

carol brussel still IBCLC in denver, even though the rocky mountain news
doesn't know it
