According to Hale:

Protein binding high (96%): That's good
Oral bioavailability low (31%): That's good

"In one patient who received 4 mg/day for withdrawal off other opiates, the
amount of buprenorphine transferred via milk was only 3.28 micrograms/day,
and amount that was clinically insignificant".
