Hi all,

Can't help but stick my 2 cents worth here. According to
my-husband-the-lactation-trained-pharmacist, anesthesia has cleared the
system, and by implication, the breast milk by the time the mom is awake,
aware, and ready to go. Moms at our hospitals here can bf as soon as they
are awake after a C/Section if they had to have a general, or as soon as they
are back in their rooms if they had a postpartum tubal. If they are giving a
preanesthetic drug such as Versed, you will need to know that and check to
see if whatever the preanesthetic is is compatible with bf. Most are.

And I know our Tom Hale will give a much better accounting of this than I
can.
