Hello collective friends!
I am in urgent need of someone who is able to write in Spanish.
In our maternity Unit, we have a lovely lady from Cuba, who does speak some
English, but has only been here for a year.
This lady has no family here at all, few friends, and the partner is no
longer on the scene. She has lost 2 babies in Cuba, the first she saw at
birth, then at 3 days of age, as she had just died. The second was seriously
ill (I think cardiac defect) and cared for in a nursery, in Oxygen. Mother
was not allowed to touch her daughter, and the baby was not picked up by
nurses or Drs. Mother relates how she listened to her daughter cry for 3
months, watched painful tests being done, whilst never being allowed to
cuddle her baby.

Now she has a beautiful and healthy son, lots of breastmilk, but mum is a
nervous wreck. I have just come home from work at midnight, leaving her
cuddling her baby in bed. If he so much as moves an arm in his sleep, she
becomes worried that something is wrong.
I would love to have someone write for me in Spanish about 'normal' babies,
maybe it would help. We don't have any Spanish speaking people here in our
area.
Many thanks
Susan in Australia
