I started an email list just for this purpose a few years ago, anyone can
join. It is a Yahoo group. It is a place to exchange policies and
procedures. If you are interested in joining here is the link:
http://www.breastfeedingonline.com/email.shtml
Go about half way down the page and look for the pink box in the center that
says join Breastfeeding files ;-)

Subject: hospital policies

I just began a position at our local hospital as the Lactation Consultant.
This is a brand new position for the hospital, as well as myself. Currently
no policies, procedures, or competencies exist in relation to
breastfeeeding. I am certain many great policies, competencies, and
procedures have already been created and are in use. I would love to be able
to use them as resources when creating ours. If you could please send any
response to my personal email at [log in to unmask], it would
be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your input.
