Anecdotal: I had chicken pox in a big way as a child. My 8 mo. breastfed son
got a very bad case of chickenpox. Almost 2 weeks to the day of when older
son broke out, younger son did, too. This was the most miserable month of my
life! No immunities passed on in this case. I have since read that the
immunity to chicken pox is very weak. I also think that the very intense
exposure may have contributed.
