Dear Friends:
I worked with a mother referred to me because her newborn was too sleepy
to wake up and feed. This mother had a cesarean section, with subsequent
wound dehiscence and was taking Percocet around the clock for the first week
postpartum. When Percocet was changed to ibuprofen, the baby woke up.
According to Hale, no reports of untoward effects in infants have been
found with Oxycodone use. Percocet is oxycodone with tylenol.
     Warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MSN, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI, CCE
