Just out of curiosity, when was this level drawn in relation to the
previous breastfeeding time? Even at 5 months, I would expect that
prolactin would spike within 10-15 minutes after a feeding, and the half
life is 3 hours, if I remember correctly, so depending on whether it was
drawn at least 6 hours post nursing, logic tells me that the level could
be effected.

Also, if it was drawn first thing in the a.m. with no nursing, isn't
there some documentation to the fact that even men's prolactin levels are
higher during the night, and even then, with a half life of 3 hours,
early a.m. would not seem to be likely to be the lowest point in the 24
hour day, for a true baseline.
