Kathy and all:
ECMO is so high-tech and "life-saving" that many ECMO docs (who are mostly
neonatologists) forget about nutrition (except for hyperalimentation).  Most
of OUR ECMO babies DO get their mom's BM.  I have bugged my partners about it
for so many years, they all ASSUME their moms will be breastfeeding!  I had
an ECMO fellowship, but it is NOT my favourite thing to do.
