Hi Lyla,

I'm sorry I can't help with a contact. I would think that maybe your best
bet would be for this mum to hook up with some another mum online (via one
of the email lists or BBs that are around there are a few really good ones)-
Last year I conducted a study of mother to mother support via the internet
using an internet support group for women breastfeeding adopted children and
the reuslts showed that support via the net decreased geographical
isolation, removed a sense of aloneness and provided helpful advice and
support that the women had been unable to source elsewhere.
As to written information, there is very little around. Darillyn's Nursing
Julia from New Beginnings (also on the web) is the best around. There is one
other paper that looks at older children but it is in German. this lack of
information is why Darillyn and I are working on a study of older adoptive
breastfeeding, Some will say that it is impossible to wean a year old to the
breast but it has been done and with even older children.
