Hello,
This is a question regarding a patient that the LC's here have just evaluated :a patient with a Diagnosis of R/O breast cancer. She is 28 weeks gestation and noted an increase of the right breast size in September ( 5 months into the pregnancy) . She has had 3 needle biopsies and mammograms and all were negative.
Peu d'orange appearance was noted of the medial portion of the breast. Areola and nipple deviates to the right side. Right breast 2 sizes bigger than the left ( WNL) . Mass (?) noted in the outer aspect of the right breast between the 7-8 o'clock postion.
When the patient had showered last week, she had removed a scab off of one of the sights and states she had drained approximately 100cc of serous fluid and now the patient and her husband states that the breast looks better!
Mother intends to breastfeed after delivery. Recently lost her mother to lung cancer 4 months ago. No prior history of breast CA or Breast CA noted in the family. Fetus growing normally.
Have any of you worked with a patient like this before? Our breast specialist will be taking her for a deeper biopsy.
Thanks for your help
Sincerely,
