And for your amusement- a little conversation between my husband and our
recently weaned 2 1/2 year old daughter, Clara. "Kipper" is our nickname
for our baby in utero (I'm 20 weeks pregnant)... and the reference to the
"broken" na-nas relates to the drop in milk supply.
Daddy (points at daughter): Who's this?
Clara: Clara!
Daddy: Is it really Clara?
Clara: Yes!
Daddy: But you're a big girl! I remember when Clara was a baby!
Clara: I'm not a baby, I'm a big girl!
Daddy: A big girl? What happened? You used to be a baby!
Clara: I got bigger because I drank milk!
Daddy: Where do you drink milk from?
Clara: From Mommy's na-na's!
Daddy: Do big girls drink from Mommy's na-nas?
Clara: Yes, until they get broken, then they drink from a cup!
Daddy: What about Kipper? Will he drink from mommy's na-nas?
Clara (*looks worried*): Kipper's in Mommy's tummy!
Daddy: Yeah but Kipper's gonna come out
Clara (*doubtful*): Yeah
Daddy: But not for a long time yet.
Clara (*more certain*): Yeah!
Daddy: So when Kipper comes out, he'll drink from Mommy's na-nas?
Clara (*very certain*): Yep!
