On the subject of milk storage guidelines, I just had an eye opener.  I was
sent a copy of the general food & nutrition guidelines for daycare centers in
Delaware, and read:  "Refrigerated unused expressed human milk that was never
frozen shall be discarded after 48 hours, or by 3 months if frozen and stored
in a deep freezer at zero degrees F."  When I objected to the 48 hours, I was
told this is standard for all food in daycare centers licensed by the state.
Nothing stays longer than 48 hours.  So a lot of our moms think their milk is
only good for 2 days in the frig.
