FYI, here's a copy of a letter I sent the American Council on Science and
Health

ACSH claims that ;
"Unlike some so-called consumer-advocacy organizations that misrepresent
science and distort health priorities, ACSH has a well-established policy of
presenting balanced, scientifically sound analyses of current health topics."

In checking out any new site, I always look for benchmarks, areas where I have
some knowledge, to evaluate how trustworthy other information is likely to be.
I lost all confidence in ACSH when I found Dr Elizabeth M Whelan's statement
to the effect that there is no significant difference between breastfeeding
and bottlefeeding.

The American Academy of Pediatrics has endorsed breastfeeding in a Policy
Statement available at:
http//www.aap.org/policy/re9729.html
The statement says that there have been "considerable advances that have
occurred in recent years in the scientific knowledge of the benefits of
breastfeeding" and concludes with 111 references.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones and people who aren't
scientifically exact themselves shouldn't criticize the science of others.
