Permission to post:

G1,P1 due in Feb.  Has longterm cardiac issue: patent foreman ovale for which she takes 81 mg. aspirin daily.
Cardiologist has recommended Lovenox for 3-4 days after birth, then 325 mg. aspirin daily for
3-4 months postpartum.  
At this weeks visit,
OB expressed concern for Asprin dose and breastfeeding, referred to Pediatrician.  
Ped statement is that "since she is not his patient, cannot make recommendations regarding aspirin
and breastfeeding" (Reye Syndrome concern). 
Have given her Hale info on both Aspirn and Lovenox.
She has consultation with another pediatrician next week.
She is upset, as her wish is to breastfeed, and this is first time it has been suggested she cannot because of 
aspirin/Reye Syndrome.
Anyone have any experience with this I can share with her?
