My son had a similar experience when wearing heavy cotton gloves while
working as a fire sprinkler pipefitter. He tried many OTC creams, steroid
creams, a couple of prescription creams, changed to new clean gloves 2 & 3
times a day (working as a foreman, they were free to him), etc. Then his
doctor prescribed Diprolene AF .05% crm 15gm, mfg by Schering. This
definitely needs physician supv but he said it cleared up his severely sore,
itching, dry, flaky & cracking welts in two days' time. It's worth a
discussion with your own doctor to see if this is appropriate for your
situation.
