Hi Darillyn,
I certainly agree with you that the baby has a big impact on how easy
relactation or induced lactation may be.....certainly though it's not the
only factor and in cases of relactation for a biological child many babies
in developing countries have been bottlefed and as a result are ill when
relactation is begun (and therefore may not have a lot of strength for
suckling- it is often when a child is admitted to hospital for treatment
that mothers are told about relactation), yet they do very well.
Breastfeeding Review should have a paper that discusses this out in March.
