 I've called them all 'magic initials' for many years.  I started out in LLL and successfully nursed my 4th baby 2 years, became a Leader and a voracious reader of all things BF.  When I started there was the WAB and Nursing Your Baby!  Took the IBCLC in 1985 because I thought a hospital LC sounded like a good idea. Became a PNP in 1994 because I was tired of being put down by HCPs, when I actually knew much more about BF than they did.
Your skills in communication, counseling and good book knowledge is what makes you competent, not what ever 'magic initials' you have.  
My best magic initials are MA (mom :-)  Pat in SNJ
