Help with a Help form

I, too, could use some help with a help form. Baby is 5 1/2 mo. and they
have had on again and off again thrush. Mom writes " baby and I have
been dealing with the symptoms of thrush for the last two months. But it
is not getting any better, and
I am wondering (1) whether there are alternative treatments to
nystatin and (2) whether it is really thrush. Here is the
history: -white patches in her mouth and diaper rash at three
months of age, both of which went away without
          treatment in a week.
-at four months, rash around her mouth, neck and chest.
No patches in mouth. Some nipple soreness for me.
We started nystatin (oral and creme). Went away after
          @ 2 1/2 weeks.
-at five months, white patches in mouth and more nipple
soreness. Have been using nystatin for almost two
weeks now, and this has had no effect. Nursing is very
painful, especially when I let down. Also painful to
          express milk."
Sounds to me like there are a few other things going on as well, she adds
"She is a happy baby, and doesn't seem to be bothered much by this.
However, she has been nursing much more frequently lately, waking
up about every 2 hours at night. All I have to do is nurse her,
and she'll go right back to sleep. She takes more milk during
the day, too. She cut two teeth a couple weeks ago. Sometimes
when she is nursing it feels like she is biting me, but it is
hard to tell- the rhythm of the sucking doesn't change, and I can
hear her swallowing. My first baby never bit me, so I am not sure
how to tell if that is what she's doing. The other thing she does
when she is nursing is arch her back and pull her head back while
she is latched on tightly. This really hurts, but she only does
it before the first let down. Once the milk comes, she relaxes."

I would appreciate help with this one!
