Thanks to those who sent me LLL and LC info for Ann Arbor. I was pretty
nervous and actually hoping to be able to tell her that an LC I "knew"
worked at her hospital, but it sounds like things are working out
amazingly well.

Baby was 35wks, really bruised, pre-eclampsia in Mom, separated for a
couple hours, given formula by bottle for low sugar, etc, etc. He woke
up when grandma (who became a bf advocate after she saw my son deal with
multiple food allergies--she tells people on the street that she has a
3yo grandson who bfs) was there, and *grandma* discussed with the nurses
the need to get skin to skin with baby, nurse more often than q2.5hrs,
no more supplements bc of allergy in the family, colostrum should be
enough to get his sugar stable. During the delay getting him to my
sister, baby rooted like crazy, so grandma offered a knuckle before they
could hand her a pacifier, and baby latched right on like an old pro
once they got him to his mom!

I am so excited, because my sister was not very interested in bf, didn't
do any reading, go to LLL, or any of that (and I was not going to put
any perceived pressure on her) , but baby knew what to do. The NICU
nurse was flabbergasted :)

And I am so excited that my mom, who used to think nursing was nice but
not necessary, and nursing a kid old enough to ask for it was pretty
shaky, is now helping to enlighten others.
