Dear Pat and Lactnet,
I am a few weeks behind on Lactnet d/t a kitchen fire that has relocated
us to a furnished apartment for 90 days. Of all the creature comforts I miss,
it was my computer assess and Lactnet that was hardest to go without.

In response to the baby with a growing torus cyst: I am also a pediatric
dental hygienist and saw many such growths over the years. Many times it
took the shape of a hard bony outgrowth on the maxillary palatal midline which
could very much effect latch-on.

The challenge would seem to be having enough palatal space to maintain
suction and also the possibility of pain to mom from rubbing. A pedodontist (a
pediatric dentist in the USA) or ENT could evaluate the reduction of the cyst.
In adulthood these bony protuberances interfere with dentures and I have
assisted with them being surgically reduced. I do not know if this is an option
for an infant.

Let us know how this progresses.
