Hi,

I'm hoping that someone might have some insight into this situation. I
have the mother's permission to post here:

For about the last 24 hours, every time this baby nurses she (the
baby) breaks out in a rash on her face and upper torso. The rash
starts to show a couple minutes into the breastfeeding and lasts for
about an hour. The mother describes the rash as patchy with clearly
demarcated red areas with some raised places within the red areas. The
red patches are in different places at different feedings. The baby
doesn't seem bothered by the rash. The baby's pediatrician isn't
concerned but the mother is... She called me because the rash appears
when the baby nurses.

Some other background: The baby is exclusively breastfed. She's
growing slowly. The mother has a history of low milk production with
her older baby and started domperidone when this baby was young (3-4
weeks old I think). The mother can not think of any changes in the
household environment or her diet or the baby's health in the last
couple days.

Have any of you run across this kind of thing?

Thanks in advance for your input,

Adria
