Quite right, Nancy, about neonatologists. Indeed, some of the big names
and pioneers in breastfeeding have been neonatologists. I did not mean
to smear neonatologists. It is just that neonatologists have so much
influence, but there is no reason why they should have any particular
expertise in breastfeeding, any more than respirologists. Those who do
have gotten that expertise *despite* their training, which, if I may
venture to say, teaches them that breastfeeding (and breastmilk) is a
problem. The same could be said of pediatricians. I do a lot of
speaking. And when I speak to physicians, they tend to say "we're all
for it, but the nurses on not on side". When I speak to nurses, they
tend to say, "we're all for it, but the doctors on not on side". And
*everyone* agrees that the pediatricians are *the* big impediment. As a
pediatrician that saddens me immensely.

Disclaimer: I am not talking about *all* neonatologists,
respirologists, pediatricians, physicians or nurses.
