Biting in a breastfeeding baby or toddler is always a sign for an underlying problem : not hungry, feeling rejected, etc. It is always possible for a mother to develop an agreement or a sign with her baby that says "do not bite". Actually, babies understand and feel things much more than we expect them to and a simple "do not use the teeth" while teaching him what teeth are is usually sufficient unless another problem is present. Most of the time, it is a question of fullness (baby eating taking too much solids or other liquids) or of an existing stress in his life or within his relationship with his mother. Most important : do not force the baby to the breast if he does not want to breastfeed, just wait it out...
