Help!  Mom has just found out that she has retained placenta, baby is 2 months old!   The physician started her on antibiotics 2 wk ago due to continued bleeding.  Finally did an ultrasound and found the piece, so now she is on Clindamycin qid 600mg  (a LOT).  Baby has diarrhea, and a sore bum. Yeast?
Can she give the baby and herself acidophilus?  They want her to stay on this high dose for 2 week.
I suggested she seek a second opinion, and contact the pedi regarding acidophilus for baby.
