"Since when is having a single double phase pump essential to maintaining a milk supply with a pump?? Enlighten me please..."

I have been wondering this myself, as somebody who happily traded a fancy pants pump for a hand pump; I accidentally discovered it doubled the volume I could extract when I borrowed one in an emergency. I just wished I could have found a foot pump, which I believe are available.
