Elisheva, I would strongly recommend that you talk with Kathy Kelley, ass't
Executive Director at IBLCE, about your situation. She can explain to you
how you need to go about getting hours that "count." As a former IBLCE
staff member, I can tell you that we usually got inquiries from people long
after they'd started working intensively in the field.... and if their work
hadn't been appropriately documented and supervised, their hours didn't
count. This was always extremely disappointing for them to hear, and for us
to relay to them! So make that your FIRST stop - find out how to go about
doing this in such a way that it will count. Their phone number:
703-560-7330 in Falls Church VA.

In fact, I'd recommend this to anyone who's wondering if her/his experiences
fit the prescribed requirements for becoming an IBCLC. Whether you're in
North America, and therefore calling Kathy, or calling one of IBLCE's other
offices around the world, the staff will be *very* happy to talk you through
the process and give you guidance.
